My name is Stephanie; Mum to two boys and wife to a very lovely supportive husband. I am a fully qualified and Ofsted registered Childminder in Stockport, Cheadle Hulme/Cheadle Border. In my most recent Ofsted inspection (Dec 18) i was given a rating of 'GOOD' with outstanding qualities. I have a passion for children and encouraging their development as they grow.
Working with children is something I have wanted to do from a very young age but for many years I have worked in the corporate world as a Marketing Manager. Following having my son in 2012 and then being diagnosed with Cancer in early 2013 (and won the battle) I decided that life was too short to do a job I no longer love and decided to follow my passion for working with children. I have to say its paid off and I now LOVE MY JOB!
After juggling child care and full time work myself, I know how important it is to find superb quality child care for your children. I aim to provide a setting that both children and parents will love and enjoy.
I am a fully qualified Childminder with the following qualifications:
CACHE Childcare Services
First Aid Training
Currently on Young Peoples Workforce Training course
DBS (CRB) checks for both myself and husband
Essential food hygiene
Child language development
Learning through play
Better place to be at three
Improving children's learning through play
The Prevent Duty
Effective First aid management in the setting
Characteristics of effective leaders
As well as my qualifications i think being a marketing manager and having a passion for graphic design for part of my life I love all things creative. My cupboards are stacked with crafty items to make almost anything with the kids. I have no issues with kids making a bit (or sometimes a lot) of mess, as long as they start to learn to tidy it up too who cares. But I can assure you the kids I look after will never have to fear a rainy day again as we will always have exciting things to do come rain or shine.
About the setting
Kids Rock Childminding offers a caring home from home environment, whilst following the curriculum of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
Child led and free play is encouraged, we will have themes and activities throughout the year which the children will be encouraged to participate in but it is not essential.Use of the great outdoors is encouraged and I aim to get out and about daily and in all weathers
Child safety to me is paramount; it is what most parents care about more than anything when it comes to leaving your child in someone else’s care.
As a mother and child-minder I think it is vital to keep up to date with first aid. Although by law I am only required to complete my Paediatric first aid course every 3 years, I attend a refresher course every 18 months to make sure I am as confident as I can be when its needed the most!
"Steph is enthusiastic and fun to be around. My son William loves going to see 'Auntie Steph' and thoroughly enjoys his time there.
She makes an effort to create engaging activities which the kids will enjoy but always with an eye on teaching.
I would highly recomend Kids Rock to anyone enquiring."

"Charlie enjoys going to Steph, he is still in the settling in period and she is giving him all the time he needs to get used to his new surroundings.
It was important to us as a family that Charlie was given that home from home care which is what we get at Kids Rock.
Steph is now an extended member of our family, just the way we like it!"

"Aaliyah loves spending time with Steph, she especially likes all the crafts and baking she does with her.
She has great fun with her Son, Noah and have become great friends and partners in crime.
Its nice to know my daughter is being cared for and looked after by someone who clearly loves being with children and enjoys teaching them and developing new skills.
